Hyperbole
Hyperbole adalah kata yang digunakan untuk melebih-lebihkan kenyataan sehingga kenyataan tersebut menjadi tidak masuk akal. Tentu saja, hal ini tidak sama dengan kenyataanya. Contoh yang dapat kita ambil dari Bahasa Indonesia seperti "Jalannya lambat sekali seperti jalannya siput".

Dalam Bahasa Inggris, beberapa contoh yang dapat kita ambil adalah sebagai berikut:
